In the qualification stage of the Men’s Doubles in the Kuwai Open, the Portuguese Marcos Freitas (no. 89) and the Polish Jacub Kosowski (no. 82) were unbeaten and won all their matches by 3:2 and reached the Main Draw. They first beat the pair from Iran Mehran Ahadi (no. 311) / Mohammadreza Akhlaghpasand (no. 277) by 6-11, 7-11, 15-13, 11-7, 6-11, and then overcame Russia’s pair Igor Rubtsov (no. 66) / Alexei Smirnov (no. 45) by 11-13, 9-11, 13-11, 13-11, 6-11. Tomorrow Thursday February 25 at 19h45 (GMT +3), the pair formed by Freitas / Kosowski, will have a very difficult game since they will confront two Top players at the World Ranking, respectively number 3 and number 2 of the World, China’s Ma Lin / Wang Hao, curiously last week Ma Lin and Wang Hao clinch Qatar Men’s Doubles Gold and moved away the Portuguese and the Croatian from the men’s doubles competition.
