Marcos Freitas at Europe’s Top 10 rankingPublished 2 November, 2011
He improved in six positions relatively to the previous month and he now appears at no.32 having previously been ranked at no.38. Thanks to his strong commitment to the sport, his fighter character and to an excellent performance, Freitas is also in Europe’s Top 10 ranking and in Portugal, he is the best ranked table tennis player. AS Cergy Pontoise team where plays Portugal’s Marcos Freitas won today Tuesday 1st November St Denis US93TT with 4:2 at the meeting in the Pro A French league.
With this result the French team of Pontoise remains in the 3rd place in the table.
The next meeting scheduled for 15th November Pontoise will face the team of Istres, that currently holds the sixth place in the Pro-A French league.

It should be noted that the meeting could have taken other forms, since France’s Adrien Mattenet (no. 26) was wining the next game against Prokopcov (n0. 51) with 2-0, but he was defeated by 2-3, ending the match with a 1:4 defeat. The next challenge of Pontoise will take place on 1st November 2011 against the Saint Denis.

In the first round Marcos beat Sweden’s Jon Persson with 4-1 but in the next round the player lost against Hong Kong’s player Chu Yan Leung, with a tangential 3-4 as it shows the results of the match, ending his participation in the men’s singles event.

The Olympic player met yesterday the draw which takes place in Stockholm, where he will play only the men’s Singles event. Currently ranked no. 38 of World, Marcos immediately secured a place in the Main Draw and waits for his opponent for the first round, which will be found in the qualifying stage.
