Marcos Freitas at Europe’s Top 10 ranking

Portugal’s international player Marcos Freitas, has been making progress in the Men’s World ranking list, issued by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), for the month of November 2011. The young player sponsored by TIBHAR that plays this season in the French team AS Pontoise Cergy, has got his best result ever.

He improved in six positions relatively to the previous month and he now appears at no.32 having previously been ranked at no.38. Thanks to his strong commitment to the sport, his fighter character and to an excellent performance, Freitas is also in Europe’s Top 10 ranking and in Portugal, he is the best ranked table tennis player.

Pro A – Pontoise won St Denis with 4:2

AS Cergy Pontoise team where plays Portugal’s Marcos Freitas won today Tuesday 1st November St Denis US93TT with 4:2 at the meeting in the Pro A French league.

With this result the French team of Pontoise remains in the  3rd place in the table.

The next meeting scheduled for 15th November Pontoise will face the team of Istres, that currently holds the sixth place in the Pro-A French league.

Por A – Pointoise coudn’t avoid the defeat

Pontoise’s team lost today Tuesday 25th October against Hennebont in the meeting of the Pro A at the French League. The point of honor was featured by the Portuguese player Marcos Freitas world ranked number 38 who won the Asian Cho Eon Rae with 3-2.

It should be noted that the meeting could have taken other forms, since France’s Adrien Mattenet (no. 26) was wining the next game against Prokopcov (n0. 51) with 2-0, but he was defeated by 2-3, ending the match with a 1:4 defeat.

The next challenge of Pontoise will take place on 1st November 2011 against the Saint Denis.

Excellent performance did not avoid Marcos defeat against Asian

Portugal’s Marcos Freitas ranked no. 38 of world ranking made his debuted today Friday 21st October at the 2011 Swedish Open ITTF Pro Tour, in Stockholm.

In the first round Marcos beat Sweden’s Jon Persson with 4-1 but in the next round the player lost against Hong Kong’s player Chu Yan Leung, with a tangential 3-4 as it shows the results of the match, ending his participation in the men’s singles event.

Marcos Freitas in the 2011 Swedish Open

After the European title in the men’s doubles event in Poland, Madeira’s Marcos Freitas is back to the big world championships, this time at the 2011 Swedish Open ITTF Pro Tour, an event that is being held from today Wednesday until Sunday.

The Olympic player met yesterday the draw which takes place in Stockholm, where he will play only the men’s Singles event.

Currently ranked no. 38 of World, Marcos immediately secured a place in the Main Draw and waits for his opponent for the first round, which will be found in the qualifying stage. Note that Marcos is the only Portuguese athlete present in this competition.
