On Saturday 20th the Portuguese Marcos Freitas and the Croatian Andrej Gacina managed a honorable 3rd Place in the Men’s Doubles Competition in the Qatar Open, an event that ends tomorrow in the city of Doha. Freitas / Gacina lost in the Semi Final against the Chinese pair formed by two players from the Top of the World Ranking list, respectively the number two and three of the World, Ma Lin / Wang Hao. The pair has beaten well against the powerful Asian double in a gruelling six games encounter with the margins of 12-10, 3-11, 10-12, 11-4, 15-13, 11-4. The winners of the men’s doubles competition was precisely the pair Ma / Wang who moved away the Portuguese and clinch Qatar Men’s Doubles Gold after beating compatriots Wang Liqin / Xu Xin in the Final. They won (6-11, 11-7, 4-11, 5 — 11, 11-9, 10-12).
